My first experience using a camera was with a Brownie when I was 10 years old photographing my friends in the school yard at Norseman P.S. in Etobicoke.   To me this was very special to have these images.  Fast forward to 1976 when I had my first child and at the same time bought a Pentax K1000 to document my growing family.  Now, when I look back at the pictures of my family when they were younger, I feel the same joy as I did when I was a 10 year old.   I have  made the transition to photographing with a digital camera and  I appreciate the technological options this brings to a final photograph.  This allows me to take numerous pictures of my grandchildren.
I have been influenced in my photography through various aspects of education.  Studying fine art at York University exposed me to history, visual arts and
experimentation in creative expression.  These courses helped to shape my preferences and perspective in photography.   I have been strongly influenced by the
artists of the Impressionist period. I endeavour to photograph nature under various conditions of light and atmosphere trying to make airy visions with rhythms of form and interplay of reflection and reality.
Having summered and now living full time in the Georgian Bay area, I have explored and photographed my beautiful surroundings.  I am particularly drawn to the elements of the area which have permeated my psyche.  I especially like photographing patterns and designs which are found in abundance in nature.  To me photography is a joy and an endless process of discovery.   I am fascinated with capturing images which help me to observe and appreciate our world.
