About Gary

Gary has been a Photography enthusiast on, and off, for many years. It started in the late 1940's, early 1950's when he got his hands on his parents' Kodak Folding camera, then on to Brownies, Box Cameras, etc., and even tried Polaroid. His first SLR was a Minolta SRT 102, with many accessories, which he used until he bought his first Digital Kodak. (he thinks it was about 2 megapixels). He never got into film processing, but shot many slides.

Now that he is into Digital, he uses Photoshop, Lightroom, and an assortment of other editing programs. At the moment he is very much into HDR processing using Photomatix, and Dynamic-Photo HDR.

His primary photo interests are Land/Water scapes, Nature, Fauna/Flora (all sorts), and Macro. He also has a photo included in a "How to Photography Book" published in Australia. His travels have taken him to Portugal, England, Costa Rica, Aruba, Hawaii, Mexico, and extensively in the United State, which includes Alaska. Of course his travels have taken him across Canada from coast to coast. He likes the idea of belonging to a Club because of interaction with other like-minded people, as well as learning from those that are more experienced like Bruce Young, and Martin Jurgeit. They have a wealth of knowledge to share.
